POSITION SUMMARY

CVS Health is seeking a Staff CICS Support Engineer to come join our team. As a Staff Engineer and CICS infrastructure support professional, you will play a vital role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of our organization's Customer Information Control System (CICS) environment. The responsibilities of this role will encompass a spectrum of tasks, including but not limited to system administration, troubleshooting, and implementing changes to enhance the overall CICS infrastructure.

Expectations for the Role:

System Maintenance Conduct routine maintenance tasks to guarantee the optimal functioning of the CICS environment. This involves monitoring system performance, identifying potential issues, and implementing preventive measures.

Problem Resolution Demonstrate proficiency in promptly identifying and resolving issues within the CICS infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and address problems effectively, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.

Change Management Implement changes to the CICS environment, adhering to established change management processes. Evaluate the impact of changes, communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders, and ensure seamless integration into the existing infrastructure.

Performance Optimization Proactively monitor and optimize the performance of CICS components. Identify opportunities for improvement and work on enhancements to maintain a high level of system efficiency.

Documentation Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for the CICS infrastructure, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Ensure that knowledge is shared and accessible across the team.

Collaboration Work closely with other IT teams, such as application development, database administration, and operations, to foster collaboration and ensure alignment of CICS infrastructure with overall IT goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of overall experience in the support of mainframe infrastructure software products such as: CICS Transaction Server, CICS Transaction Gateway, CICSPlex Systems Manager, and z/OS Connect in a large-scale mainframe environment
  • 5 + years of experience in CICS system administration within a large mainframe environment
  • 5+ years of experience in multi-platform application support and performance tuning
  • 3+ years of experience reading and/or programming with COBOL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving CICS-related issues
  • Strong understanding of CICS architecture and its integration with other systems
  • Familiarity with change management processes and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work in a team environment
  • Familiarity with Splunk
  • Experience with CICS Explorer
  • Experience with diagnosis and debugging of applications
EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $284,280.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
