Kadiak, LLC is seeking a Staff Assistant with a Top-Secret Clearance in Washington, DC to support our government customer. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: Serve as a staff assistant in the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Counterterrorism. Prepare daily briefing materials for the CT Front Office and Office Director, as needed. Work closely with senior-level staff in the Bureau of Counterterrorism and provide support on various high-level issues across all lines of efforts. Draft briefing material, background papers, correspondence, and other policy documents on a variety of substantive subjects. Clear and ensure accuracy of incoming briefing material, including briefing checklists, annotated agendas, and other department and interagency documents. Coordinate closely with regional and functional bureaus as well as with the Secretary of State's Office on the 7th floor, interagency, and international partners. Utilize Department record keeping systems to track and trace the progress of action memoranda and other sensitive documents from the Line. Maintain an office tickler system and files correspondence, reports publications, and other documents for the supervisors' ready reference and use; conduct annual records disposition in accordance with established Department Records Management procedures. Support bilateral and multilateral engagements with the Secretary of State, assigned office, and other Department and interagency principals. Support the CT Front Office and Office Director on TDY travel, as needed. On-site presence required with situational telework if appropriate. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or 2 plus years of experience preferred. Preferred areas of study are: international studies, political science, national security, foreign policy, humanitarian assistance, foreign assistance, or counterterrorism.
• State Department experience preferred. Able to be available for overseas travel. Able to work effectively with high-ranking officials of the State Department, other government agencies, and foreign governments. Have a strong understanding of the paper process at the State Department and other State Department procedures, such as travel planning and execution. Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must have a Top-Secret Clearance
