About Our JobWho We Are Denver's Board of Ethics is an independent, all-volunteer Board whose members are appointed either by the Mayor or by City Council (or, for the Board's city representative seat, by both). The Board's responsibilities start with issuing advisory opinions to officers, officials, and employees of the City who seek guidance in their ethical responsibilities. Additionally, the Board screens inquiries, holds monthly public meetings, and investigates and resolves complaints that allege ethics violations by city personnel.

What We Offer The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hour, based on education and experience. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which includes but is not limited to:

Location The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
What You'll Do The Board of Ethics is seeking a Staff Assistant to perform administrative support to the Executive Director and manage all correspondence and communication in and out of the office. In this role, you will also understand and identify citizen questions and complaints, be knowledgeable of the Code of Ethics, and effectively serve as the office manager for the board. The selected candidate will be a reliable, professional, energetic individual who has excellent customer service skills, superior judgement skills and can maintain discretion, strong administrative and organizational skills, and is able to work successfully with minimal supervision. The successful candidate must also be able to ensure confidentiality, be detail-oriented, multi-task effortlessly, and have excellent scheduling and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities - Implements and coordinates specific administrative functions by exercising delegated decision-making authority over essential elements of the function.
- Evaluates operational objectives or procedures and recommends/creates modifications and/or other solutions by analyzing operational issues and/or addressing management concerns.
- Recommends and offers informed opinions to management on courses of action based on specialized knowledge.
- Interprets, communicates and implements agency policy and procedural changes.
- Assists other staff in adapting to new policies and practices, modifications and/or other solutions.
- Implements, maintains and monitors expenditure controls for the organization.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications - Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of experience performing specialized and/or technical office support work of the type and at the level of Administrative Support Assistant IV.
- Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of education may be substituted for each required year experience.
- License/Certifications: None
