Description:The Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Data & Analytics team is seeking a Staff AI/Machine Learning Engineer to serve as a technical leader in the development and deployment of AI/ML solutions. As a Staff AI/ML Engineer, you will lead the architecture and implementation of AI/ML solutions that solve complex business problems and deliver significant value to our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the solution architecture and implementation of AI/ML solutions, particularly in the domain of computer vision.

• Provide technical guidance and oversight to a team of 5+ engineers, ensuring adherence to MLOps and CI/CD best practices.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in AI/ML, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our AI/ML solutions and capabilities.

• Ensure the successful delivery and deployment of AI/ML solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions with existing systems and processes.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of relevant professional experience; or 7 years of relevant professional experience with a related Master's degree.

• Expertise in implementing deep learning architectures using frameworks such as Tensorflow, Keras, or PyTorch.

• Significant experience with computer vision, specifically a deep understanding of convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures, object detection algorithms, and image segmentation techniques.

• Strong background in designing and deploying end-to-end MLOps systems

• Ability to document and present solution architectures for AI/ML projects that effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proven ability to provide technical leadership to a small team of more junior engineers.
Desired Skills:

• Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline, with a focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, or computer vision.

• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Experience in aerospace or manufacturing industries.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $147,400 - $255,530. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $128,200 - $225,975. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
