The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring general ledger accuracy, managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, and preparing and/or reviewing company financial documents. A key member of the Finance team, the Staff Accountant will have a strong understanding of accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting: reviews and processes all day-to-day accounting transactions for the company, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Transaction Reconciliation: reconciles bank statements and credit card transactions company-wide to ensure accurate, timely payments and compliance with policy.
- Financial Support: supports preparation of financial statements and reporting.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations, including bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Manage the Company's expense reimbursement process and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
- Complete payroll entries and reconciliation.
- Assist in the month-end invoicing process
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and adjustments.
- Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and support to external auditors.
- Maintains accurate records and ensures documentation to support financial transactions
- Prepares tax and other regulatory filings, as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience (3+ years) in accounting required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
- Proficiency in accounting software; experience working with NetSuite is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP's
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
