Job Summary

A professional services firm is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations by assisting in completing general ledger work, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with month-end and year-end closings.

  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses.

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process.

  • Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation as needed.

  • Collaborate with team members across departments to support firm-wide initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 2+ years of accounting experience; professional services industry experience is a plus.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems).

  • Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
