Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented, motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This is a 6 month contract to hire, entry-level opportunity ideal for someone with a few years of experience or a recent Accounting graduate.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a remote work setting.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments.
  • Understanding of US GAAP principles and accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure that all financial activity is properly recorded. Training will be provided, but you should have a solid grasp of accounting concepts to understand what's being posted and why.
  • Assist with accounts payable, including step-by-step processing of vendor invoices, payment batching, and verifying expenses against internal documentation.
  • Perform bank and general account reconciliations, reviewing financial records against actual bank activity to ensure accuracy and flag discrepancies.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciling accounts, reviewing entries, and organizing financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports, pulling and organizing data from QuickBooks to support leadership insights.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, learning how to ensure balances are correct and assist in resolving any variances that arise.
