Ledgent is currently working with a firm in Downtown Denver seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant with at least one year of accounting experience. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial transactions, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role requires strong problem solving skills, familiarity with industry-specific accounting practices, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Record and apply incoming payments via checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card transactions
- Monitor customer accounts for non-payment, delayed payment, or other irregularities
- Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger and support month-end closing processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records
- Assist with audits and prepare necessary documentation as required
- Collaborate with internal departments (sales, operations, etc.) to resolve billing or payment issues
- Support ad hoc reporting and other finance-related tasks as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, architecture, or engineering industries.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Deltek, or Viewpoint).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
