Position Summary:The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. This position is responsible for handling divisional accounting functions, project tracking, and supporting various financial activities within the organization. As a key contributor to the finance team, the Staff Accountant collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to streamline processes, enhance system capabilities, and drive continuous improvement in financial operations. Location:Elk Grove Village, IL Compensation:Up to $65,000 salary depending on experience. Schedule:Monday-Friday8:00 am- 4:30 pm Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or a related field Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing company, preferably in the packaging industry Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PowerPivot and financial modeling Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence software Proficiency in Japanese or at least 3 years of work experience in a Japanese company preferred but not required. Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Division Accounting (Import Machine Related): 60% Post AR and SO invoice data, including parent company invoices and invoices for projects, services, and spare parts. Post AP and PO data, such as vendor invoices, receipts of goods, and credit card transactions. Manage cash receipts, including customer remittances and direct deposits. Process AP payments, including vendor payments, auto-payments, and employee expenses. Handle intercompany transactions between divisions. Reconcile offset invoices with the parent company. Prepare payment templates, journal entries, and transaction records. Track projects, including customer and vendor invoices. 2.Division Accounting (Manufactured Machine Related): 10% Develop project tracking data with milestone schedules. Issue invoices at project milestones. Monitor project progress and ensure accounting alignment. Collaborate with the project management team on FAT/SAT milestones. 3.Other Duties: 30% Assist the Director of Finance in preparing monthly Budget vs. Actual reports. Partner with the Controller to improve accounting practices. Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of the ERP system. Collaborate with various departments to understand financial requirements and provide ROI analyses. Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and support special projects as needed. Specific Skills and Abilities: Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, including pivot tables, formulas, and dashboards Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Microsoft Access, PowerBI, or other BI tools is a plus Understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory tracking, BOM, and cost accounting Ability to analyze and understand spending drivers impacting the P&L and Balance Sheet Skilled at identifying and addressing internal control gaps, with a focus on process improvement PMI
