Sr. Vice President of Business Development

Our team is seeking a Sr. Vice President, Business Development. This position is a key role within the executive leadership team that will drive overall revenue growth for Prairie Band LLC (PBLLC) by expanding business opportunities into multiple Federal government departments and agencies to grow and diversify government contract work.


The VP of Business Development will be responsible for identifying, securing, and implementing all new contractual work. This position will also collaborate with other senior leadership to identify expansion opportunities for Prairie Band LLC's opportunity pipeline in conjunction with new business opportunities and help shape new revenue initiatives for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Opportunity, Identification and Assessment: Proactively monitor the market for potential opportunities, identify relevant RFPs, and assess the viability and strategic alignment of potential pursuits.
  • Capture Plan Development: Develop and implement comprehensive capture plans, including win strategies, teaming agreements, and price-to-win analysis.
  • Win Strategy Development: Lead the development of win themes, customer value propositions, and strategies to address competitive challenges.
  • Internal and External Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executives, technical teams, and proposal teams, as well as with external customers and partners.
  • Solution Development: Collaborate with technical teams to develop solutions that meet customer needs and address RFP requirements.
  • Proposal Support: Provide support to the proposal team, including reviewing proposals, ensuring compliance with RFP requirements, and managing the capture process.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Monitor competitors, conduct market research, and stay informed about industry trends.
  • Capture Process Management: Oversee the entire capture process, from initial identification to proposal submission and post-submission activities.
  • Business Acumen and Negotiation: Demonstrate strong business acumen and negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Presentation and Communication: Develop and deliver compelling presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Events and Conferences: Analyzes, Monitors, and Schedules the expositions, conferences, and similar events that pertain to the federal contracting industry. Prioritizes and makes recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team on attendance, booth footprint, marketing plan, and outreach plan.



Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a business-related field provides a strong foundation in business principles, management, and strategy.
  • 10 + plus years of experience in developing and providing strategies for Federal contracting.
  • Lead business development initiatives within PBLLC's Federal Contracting Group, focusing on the identification and capture of direct awards, Government Wide Acquisition, and multi-year contracting opportunities with the Federal Government and other potential clients.
  • Apply best practices for effective contract negotiation, implementation, pricing structure, billing design, and contract management.
  • Serve as Prairie Band LLC's advocate in developing federal government contracting objectives and creating new and innovative revenue streams for Prairie Band LLC through outreach, training, workshops, and other initiatives.
  • Enhance, flesh out, and implement organizational vision as established in Prairie Band LLC's Strategic Plan and Senior Leadership in order to develop new business opportunities for the organization to meet revenue targets.
  • Expand revenue-generating activities to organic and inorganic growth.
  • Attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performance staff, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance.

Certifications Required

  • Completion of Shipley Capture training or similar federal business development credential (e.g., APMP, DAWIA Level II/III, or PMP

Travel Requirements

  • Overnight, non-local travel up to 50% of the time.
