Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Virtualization Engineer to join our corporate IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our virtualization infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: - Design and Implementation : Develop and implement virtualization solutions using VMware, Nutanix, and other relevant technologies to meet the hospital's needs.
- System Maintenance : Manage and maintain virtualized environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Troubleshooting and Support : Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to virtualization, providing Level 3 support when necessary.
- Capacity Planning : Monitor and analyze system performance, making recommendations for capacity planning and resource allocation.
- Security and Compliance : Ensure that virtualization environments adhere to hospital and data center security policies and compliance requirements.
- Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of the virtualization infrastructure, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Technical Skills: - Virtualization Technologies : Expertise in VMware vSphere, VMware ESXi, Nutanix, and other virtualization platforms.
- Networking : Proficiency in configuring and managing virtual switches, VLANs, and network security.
- Storage : Experience with storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and iSCSI, and their integration with virtualized environments.
- Operating Systems : Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Scripting and Automation : Ability to write scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
- Disaster Recovery : Experience with designing and implementing disaster recovery solutions for virtualized environments.
People Skills: - Collaboration : Work closely with IT teams, clinical staff, and other departments to understand their needs and deliver effective virtualization solutions.
- Communication : Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide training and support as needed.
- Problem-Solving : Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and address complex technical issues.
- Leadership : Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Project Management : Manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuring timely and successful delivery of virtualization initiatives.
Qualifications: - Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in virtualization engineering, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
- Certifications : Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), or similar.
