Auburn Hills, MI location is seeking a Sr. Test Engineer to join our team. Are you ready to shape the future with us? THE POSITION Sr. Test Engineer, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI: Act as the customer technical interface for system performance and functionality of actuators and control modules by designing calibrations that meet customer requirements. Validate vehicles for the Customer, troubleshoot issues and feed input back to design team. Validate software functions within application software ensuring meeting customer expectations, using UltraTools, Vector CANoe, DPS (Development Programming System), and DET (Diagnostics Engineering Tool) tools. Make recommendations with evaluated risks, cost improvements and timing to improve system and components by calibration changes that may involve system trade-offs with the engineering recommendations being presented to the Customer. Create, manage and support Vehicle Functional Test Plan and Calibration Process. Complete project tasks by target dates as defined in timing plans to ensure software functionality is correct, using Excel, JiRA change management platform and DOORS. Perform in-vehicle parametrization for liftgate and articulate running boards, define the set of values for the relevant parameters for optimal performance. Analyze data from Continental or Customer engineering Teams to aid in the issues trouble shooting or in reproducing of field issues therefore analyzing CAN logs from the Customer using Vector CANoe tool. Actively contribute to setting up and maintaining the test environment (e.g. SW tools, test automation scripts, test benches) ensuring UltraTools tool, force gauges calibration are up to date and ensure the latest RBS (restbus simulation) database archive is being used. Train and guide other team members on projects and departmental teams such as resident engineers to collect and analyze data first-hand. Telecommuting permitted up to 40%. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronic or Computer Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience. Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Body Controller or Wireless Access engineering; Managing test resources to complete bench and vehicle test activities; Writing specific automotive testing documentation; Working in embedded software development; Requirements and Architectural Engineering Tools; Vehicle testing; Control modules calibration; Working with Simulation and data analysis tools in vehicle networks and communication protocols; Using vehicle network tools (diagnostics); and Working with Vector CANoe and CAPL (Communication Access Programming Language).
