As a Functional Analyst in the MetLife Holdings (MLH) IT organization you will work on a fast-paced, product-focused team, building and deploying systems that are customer-first. You will elicit and understand business requirements, and work with the business product owners and the application development teams to capture the right solution. The role requires strong communication, analysis skills, and problem-solving skills. This role will be responsible for creating solutions to meet our business goals - working in an agile delivery model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide functional support and configuration expertise for specific COTS/SaaS.
  • Collaborate with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
  • Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions/COTS/SaaS.
  • Define user stories based on product requirements
  • Create a product road map and backlog based on this vision
  • Manage the product backlog and prioritize the features/ stories based on business priorities
  • Engage in all stages of product creation including design and development and provide necessary clarifications
  • Involved in all implementations, testing (unit/system/integration), integration and issue resolution around COTS/SaaS solution.
  • Monitor and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process
  • Liaison with the product team and end-users to deliver updates
  • Participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:
  • 5+ years as a Business Systems/Functional Analyst or a Consultant creating technology solutions.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Expert skills in requirements elicitations, and analysis.
  • Ability to document and create mocks/prototypes for team to consume.
  • Experience creating requirements documentation: Use Cases, User Stories.
  • Data analysis experience using excel.
  • Experience in agile methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details, as well as, demonstrated professionalism and time/task management skills; ability to establish strong relationships.
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Retail Life, Retail Annuities and/or Long-Term Care products.
  • Knowledge of administrative processing including Claims, Disbursement, Remittance, Correspondence etc.
  • Knowledge of Vantage platforms.
