Senior Systems Analyst (Voice/Telecom Project Focus)
Engagement Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Analyst with hybrid expertise in systems and business analysis to support a major cloud-based voice transformation initiative. This project involves transitioning from an existing on-premises telephony infrastructure to a cloud-based calling platform. The ideal candidate will bring both technical acumen and stakeholder-facing communication skills to successfully lead analysis efforts, ensure smooth implementation, and support end users throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to understand and document current and future-state voice infrastructure and workflows.
  • Lead the analysis and documentation of requirements, workflows, and integration needs for the migration from an on-premise VoIP system to a cloud-based calling solution.
  • Develop detailed documentation including process flows, technical specifications, data mappings, and gap analyses.
  • Coordinate the collection and verification of telecom user data across multiple departments, including phone numbers, locations, and user-specific telephony needs.
  • Communicate directly with department managers to validate data and gather additional information such as shared lines, hunt groups, call handlers, and voicemail group settings.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams on timelines, user migrations, and system validation efforts.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and assist with post-migration support as needed.
  • Ensure consistent documentation and adherence to project standards, including change control and knowledge transfer to operations staff.
Engagement Details:
  • Start Date: Targeting early May 2025
  • Duration: Through the end of 2025
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Primarily remote with coordination across distributed teams
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in systems analysis with exposure to voice/telecom systems, including 2+ years in a lead analyst capacity on mid-to-large scale projects.
  • Working knowledge of voice technologies, telecom architecture, and telephony features/functions.
  • Experience capturing and refining business and technical requirements in environments with legacy and cloud-based systems.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Lucidchart, Visio, and Excel to document process flows and data mappings.
  • Strong understanding of data collection methodologies and cross-system validation techniques.
  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable technical documentation for voice engineers and project teams.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to or experience with Cisco Call Manager, Unity voicemail, or AWS Connect Contact Center.
  • Experience in public sector or large, decentralized enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with IT project methodologies, change management, and telecom deployment strategies.
Team & Collaboration:

This role will work in close coordination with engineering teams, internal stakeholders, and vendor partners. The analyst will receive strategic direction from leadership but also work independently to drive analysis, documentation, and migration readiness efforts.
