Job Summary
The Senior Systems Analyst serves as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, playing a key role in aligning enterprise systems with organizational goals. This position partners with business leaders, IT, and Product Owners to elicit and evaluate business requirements, translating them into clear and actionable technical specifications. The role is responsible for guiding cross-functional teams through solution design, development, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality outcomes.
The Senior Systems Analyst will support and continuously optimize critical enterprise platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations and Customer Engagement), the Power Platform, Office 365, SharePoint Online, and other business-critical applications. This individual brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of end-to-end business processes, and the ability to drive systems improvements that enhance operational efficiency, data integrity, and user experience. The role requires a balance of technical acumen, business insight, and excellent communication skills to bridge gaps between business stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams.
Essential Duties
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
Partner with business partners, IT, and Product Owners to understand business needs, pain points, and objectives.
Conduct thorough analysis and documentation of business requirements to ensure they are accurately translated into clear, actionable technical specifications.
Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications for development teams (internal and external).
Facilitate prioritization of enhancements, new features, and system changes based on business value and technical feasibility.
Solution Design & Technical Documentation
Develop and maintain technical requirement documents, process flows, and data mappings.
Define and validate system configurations and customizations needed to meet business objectives.
Identify gaps between out-of-the-box functionality and business needs, recommending solutions that balance customization and system integrity.
Collaborate with developers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with system architecture and enterprise standards.
System Implementation & Support
Lead and support testing and validation of new functionality, bug fixes, and system upgrades.
Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by helping stakeholders define test cases and validate results.
Diagnose and resolve application issues, working with IT, Product Owners, and external vendors as needed.
Ensure system changes are properly documented and align with security, compliance, and governance standards.
Data Analysis & Process Optimization
Analyze system data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
Collaborate with business users to enhance reporting, dashboards, and analytics capabilities within enterprise applications.
Recommend automation and integration improvements to streamline workflows.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as trusted liaison between business teams and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Partner with Product Owners and IT leadership to ensure solutions align with long-term business and technology strategy.
Coordinate with external vendors and third-party developers to support solution design and implementation.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering is preferred.
8+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O & CE), Power Platform, Office 365, SharePoint Online, and Procore.
Extensive experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting both business and technical requirements across complex systems.
Skilled in developing process maps, system workflows, data flow diagrams, and comprehensive technical documentation.
Demonstrated success working with development teams (internal & external) to implement system changes.
Working knowledge of SQL, APIs, and system integrations (preferred).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot application-related issues.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
