Position Title: Senior Systems Analyst

Reports to: Manager, Application Development and Support

Location: Atlanta, GA ( On-Site)

Incumbent must work in office in Atlanta three days per week and may work remotely two days per week with manager approval

Summary:

This position participates as a member of the team to deliver reliable, efficient and high performing technology based solutions; assists in the design, development, testing, support, and maintenance of multiple business applications (both packaged and custom); works in a constructive and determined manner to execute the strategies and goals determined by management.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for complex business systems based on industry best practices and IS objectives.
  • Oversee the operations of the Help Desk to ensure the timely and effective resolution of technical support requests, implementation of service improvement initiatives, and adherence to established service level agreements (SLAs). Provide leadership and guidance to help desk staff, develop training programs, monitor performance metrics, and collaborate with other IT teams to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Acts as the liaison among the stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and validate business and system requirements using industry leading practices within the systems analyst profession. Represents the needs of business customers from requirements through design validation and testing.
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of how all components of the company's technology infrastructure interact.
  • Offers creative and educated proposals for new projects and improvement of existing applications.
  • Participates in an open and constructive manner during all customer and staff interactions.
  • Leverages the IS department's technical expertise to assist in solving business problems, troubleshoot issues, identify workarounds for defects identified but not yet mitigated, and participate in root cause analysis.
  • Assists with the review and selection of new business systems.
  • Assists in all aspects of application development and deployment. This would include but is not limited to: requirements gathering, application programming, database design, migration, server configuration, testing, documentation, research, and maintenance.
  • Leads moderately complex projects and participates in larger, more complex initiatives.
  • Assists customers with developing, presenting, and maintaining training on their respective applications. Assumes lead responsibility for training on information services applications and platforms.
  • Performs responsibilities under minimal supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
  • BS or BA (preferably in Business or Information Systems) or related relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing multiple systems as an internal IS administrator, business systems analyst, or other senior technical systems owner.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external teams of IS and business personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prepare presentations and communicate effectively at various levels of management.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and follow up with resulting action items.
  • Working knowledge of software development and support methodologies.
  • Exhibits good estimating and design skills.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong systems/process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organization skills and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to parse, perform analysis, and understand log files.
  • Strong SQL query skills are a plus.
  • Experience with programming languages like C and/or VB.Net are a plus.
  • User-interface design skills are a plus.
  • Energy/utility industry experience is a plus.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
