Senior Systems Administrator - Apexlogic Location: On-site requirements within Northern Virginia.

success of our mission. Key Responsibilities: Systems Administration & Virtualization Maintain and optimize Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs). Manage VMware infrastructure (vSphere, Horizon, VDI). Implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions. Network Administration & Security Compliance Administer and troubleshoot Cisco or Juniper networking equipment. Maintain and enhance firewall security, VPN configurations, and network segmentation. Ensure compliance with STIGs, RMF processes, and NIST security frameworks. Automation & Scripting Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to improve efficiency. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for provisioning and configuration management. Mission-Critical Support & Problem-Solving Provide hands-on support for deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure system reliability. Identify and address system vulnerabilities, proactively improving infrastructure performance. , Cross-Functional Collaboration & Mentorship Work with developers, security teams, and system architects to align infrastructure with business needs. Mentor junior staff and contribute to team growth through knowledge-sharing. Required Qualifications: Security Clearance: Active CI Poly required (non-negotiable). Experience: 5-12 years in system administration, network administration, or cloud operations. Technical Skills: Windows & Linux system administration. VMware (vSphere, Horizon, VDI) administration experience. Networking fundamentals (Cisco, Juniper) - CCNA-level preferred. Security & Compliance: RMF, STIGs, NIST frameworks. Automation & Scripting: PowerShell, Python, or Bash. Nice-to-Have (Preferred, but Not Required): Cloud Infrastructure Experience (AWS, Azure, OCI). Network Certifications (CCNA, CCNP). Security Certifications (CISSP, Security+, CASP). Experience working at product-driven tech companies (Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
