SAP Position Title: Sr. Specialist - Global Packaging Lab


Key Objectives

  • Global Packaging Lab (GPL) Testing
    • Assist with the creation, preparation, and execution of Package engineering experiments and studies to support GPL customers, including DDCS, Global Packaging team members, and the various manufacturing sites. These studies would include areas such as Accelerate aging studies, definitive studies, rub testing, tape testing, shock and vibration testing, drop testing, and incline testing following appropriate technical standards.
    • Provide Field Shipping Study Lab Support.
    • Strong technical writing of test protocols and test reports that detail project scope, materials, process steps, organized data collection, results, and conclusion.
    • Continuous Lab improvement initiatives.

  • Global Packaging Lab Equipment
    • Responsible for Global Packaging equipment maintenance strategy development, providing first line support of Lab equipment and processes, as well as supporting area engineering initiatives, equipment and process improvements, and project implementation.
    • Ensure that the Lab equipment is maintained in a qualified state, can be operated safely, and maintenance is properly prepared for and performed. Performing equipment maintenance activities may be necessary at times and would be considered in the scope of this position.
    • PMs and coordination of activities with CBRE and central labs.

  • Global Packaging Lab Safety
    • Ensure and reinforce safety in all aspects of the GPL.
    • Be a steward of safety in all aspects of technical problem solving for issues that arise in the Lab appropriately.


Minimum Requirements

  • Technical associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working safely in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong equipment and process troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with testing, data gathering and technical report writing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience.
  • Excellent self-management and organization skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and writing technical documents.


Additional Skills/ Preferences

  • Experience with Maximo and GMARS or similar computerized maintenance management system.
  • An understanding of printed packaging materials and packaging components.
  • Capable of managing and balancing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of device manufacturing processes, packaging equipment, and/or manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and operate cross-functionally.
  • Knowledge of packaging lab equipment and package testing.


Additional Information

  • General work schedule information: Monday - Friday (8 hours a day with the possibility of overtime).
  • Could require occasional work in a manufacturing environment.
  • PPE adhered to as dictated by laboratory requirements.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$28.12 - $51.68

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
