Role Summary:

The Sr. Software Development Team Leader will provide strategic and operational leadership to a team of software developers, driving the development and support of web applications, internal systems, API integrations, and third-party integration. This role is responsible for guiding the team through complex technical challenges, architecting scalable solutions, and ensuring the successful execution of projects. Key responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day development activities, mentoring and coaching team members, and fostering a higher performance engineering culture. The Sr. Software Development Team Leader will collaborate with stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business goals while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, and system reliability. Additionally, this role will play a pivotal part in shaping the team's technical direction and continuously improving development processes to enhance efficiency and innovation.

What You Will Be Doing:
  1. Provide technical leadership and support to development team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks and projects
  2. Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and work with the development team to design, build, and test out tasks and solutions
  3. Analyze and improve the efficiency of applications, systems, services and processes
  4. Work with the software engineering team to design and implement security measures for our API environment and other applications
  5. Plan and complete upgrades, maintaining compliance with standards and control procedures
  6. Proactively monitor industry trends and identify opportunities to implement new technologies and solutions
  7. Lead and manage work with our nearshore resources, external vendors, and consultants on projects and integrations
  8. Build, develop and maintain vendor relationships vital to the success of products.
  9. Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor.Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities
  10. Manage a hybrid team of five (5) to 10 software developers, both in person, remote and overseas
  11. Ensure that work delivered by the team is completed accurately and on-time
  12. Develop code in alignment with Gesa's coding standards
  13. Help the team improve code quality through collaboration, code review, and implementation of code best practices
  14. Lead the architecture and design of software solutions, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and align with business objectives
  15. Track metrics for your team and provide recommendations for process improvements
About You:
  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  2. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving skills
  3. Experience with webservices and Web API
  4. Familiarity with modern programming languages
  5. Experience with Azure Devops or similar version control systems
  6. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how they work
  7. Knowledge of different testing strategies
  8. Experience in an Agile and Scrum environment
  9. Strong knowledge of web security and other security systems
  10. Ability to analyze information and recommend achievable process improvements to management
  11. Self-motivated and able to organize, prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks
  12. Ability to lead and influence team members and influence vendor partners
  13. Ability to run project implementations
  14. Knowledge of SOLID design principles, Object-Oriented Programming and Design
  15. Knowledge of different software architecture patterns and how to apply them to different problems
  16. Ability to travel to complete assigned responsibilities and attend professional seminars and education as approved
Technologies:
  1. Must be familiar with at least one modern front-end technology like Angular
  2. Must be familiar with at least one modern back-end technology like NodeJS express, or .NET
  3. Experience with at least one modern database tool like SQL Server or Oracle
  4. Familiar with microservices architecture and container technology like Docker
  5. Experience with GIT source control
  6. Experience working and developing against REST and SOAP API's
  7. Experience with an integration platform like MuleSoft
  8. Specific coding languages include but are not limited to: C , Typescript, JavaScript and Java (occasionally)

Qualifications

What You Will Need:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent of specialized courses, training, and/or directly related experience may be substituted.
  2. A minimum of seven (7) years of similar or related functional and technical experience. At least four of those years should be as a software developer
  3. A minimum of two (2) years of managerial experience
  4. Knowledge of the Financial Industry, products and services. Credit Union experience preferred
