Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join a cutting-edge R&D team supporting national security missions. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with electrical engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists to build custom geolocation and digital communication systems. Youll work across the full software lifecycle from design and development to deployment and operations on projects that directly support frontline mission success.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about problem-solving, innovation, and leading high-impact software development in a secure environment. You'll work on a mix of systems engineering, integration and testing, and direct customer deployments with immediate real-world feedback.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate fully integrated software solutions
Architect modern infrastructure to integrate in-house and third-party services
Lead and mentor junior team members while providing technical direction
Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders
Stay current with the latest tools, technologies, and industry trends
Own internal solution development and drive enterprise-wide impact
Create high-quality APIs and ensure secure, scalable system architecture
Work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications & Requirements
U.S. Citizenship Required
Active TS/SCI Clearance Required

Education & Experience:
Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
15+ years of experience in software engineering
Expert-level knowledge of Golang
Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
Proven experience building scalable APIs and integrating third-party services
Strong background in testable, maintainable code and DevOps practices
Experience designing software architectures that meet performance and security goals

Preferred Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in C and Python in Linux environments
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks like VueJS or React
Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, and CVE mitigation
Prior experience leading Agile development teams
Passion for mentoring and fostering team growth
