Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Sr. Shipping Receiving Clerk to be based out of our Wayne, MI facility. Reporting to the Materials Manager. This role will involve working cross-functionally, supporting both the manufacturing floor and outside service operations.

What you'll do:
  • Responds to both routine and non-routine inquiries, handling tasks related to the setup, verification, and management of Outside Service Provider material levels.
  • Continuously evaluates the shipping OSP process to identify opportunities for improving cost efficiency, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitors Outside Processing shipments to ensure accuracy in Quantities.
  • Administer transportation Scheduling for OSP Service Providers.
  • Collaborates closely with management, suppliers, and carriers to ensure timely and accurate inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
What you'll bring:
  • Associate's degree in supply chain or equivalent experience, preferably 2-3 years demonstrated experience in manufacturing.
  • Oracle JD Edwards MRP systems experience a plus.
  • Strong vendor relationship skills.
  • Troubleshooting Skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel is a Plus).
  • Adaptability to changing business demands.
  • Strong Written and Communication Skills.
  • Experience in Lean Continuous Improvement is a plus.
  • Organizational Skills.

Within 3 months, you'll:
  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Gain an understanding of your team.

  • Learn and use the tools and systems needed to effectively perform your job functions.
  • Assess your personal training needs and communicate those needs to you Manager.
Within 6 months, you'll:
  • Develop a solid rapport with key vendors.
  • Embark upon any additional training required for your role.
  • Hone your skills as it relates to the tools and systems you use in your daily role.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities related to Plant Operations.
  • Be able to resolve Purchase Order related issues quickly and easily.
  • Begin to assess any desired development roles.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $38,000 - $52,250. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
