The Senior Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer will lead the design, development, testing, and optimization of RF systems and components. This role will be responsible for RF circuit design, system integration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis. Essential Functions: RF Design & Development: Design and develop RF circuits, systems, and components for applications such as wireless networks, radar, satellite communications, and RF sensors. System Optimization: Conduct RF link budget analysis, interference mitigation, and performance tuning for optimal system efficiency. Testing & Troubleshooting: Develop test plans, perform RF measurements, and diagnose performance issues using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators. Antenna & Propagation Analysis: Design, simulate, and test antennas while considering propagation characteristics for different environments. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure RF systems comply with FCC, ITU, and other regulatory standards, including spectrum management and EMI/EMC compliance. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with hardware, software, and system engineers to integrate RF solutions into broader system architectures. Project Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers while managing project timelines and deliverables. Emerging Technology Research: Stay up-to-date with advancements in RF technologies, 5G, mmWave, IoT, and emerging wireless communication trends. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications and Competencies: Strong knowledge of RF circuits, PCB layout, and mixed-signal design. Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g., VNAs, spectrum analyzers). Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for data analysis. Understanding of wireless communication protocols (e.g., LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS). Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FCC, ITU, MIL-STD, etc.). Knowledge of SDR (Software-Defined Radio) and beamforming techniques. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Experience : 10+ years of experience in RF design, testing, and system optimization. Experience with RF simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST, or similar. Experience with high-frequency RF design (mmWave, microwave). Background in commercial or military RF systems. Security Clearance: Current Top Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
