POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Resettlement Case Manager provides leadership and comprehensive case management for the Reception & Placement (R&P) program, ensuring timely delivery of all core services to newly arriving refugees. This includes pre-arrival preparation, airport reception (including late arrivals), and post-arrival support to facilitate successful integration into their new community. The role also involves weekend support for newly arrived clients, ensuring access to culturally appropriate meals (three meals daily) and other essential items as needed.

The Sr. Resettlement Case Manager will serve as a mentor to new staff, lead team capacity-building efforts, and ensure compliance with PRM, ECDC, and MEIRS standards. This position requires prior experience in refugee resettlement, case management, or leadership/supervisory roles to ensure effective delivery of services and program oversight.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Pre-Arrival Preparation
  • Prepare case files, including AOR, Biodata Forms, Medical Information, and Housing Documentation.
  • Secure safe and sanitary housing; complete the Housing Supply and Home Safety Checklists in compliance with MEIRS policies.
  • Confirm arrival readiness with the U.S. Tie or primary contact.
  1. Day of Arrival
  • Airport Reception:
  • Arrive at the airport 30 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time.
  • Facilitate airport reception for late arrivals, ensuring no disruption in service delivery.
  • Prepare for contingencies such as delays or cancellations.
  • Have an interpreter ready (in-person or via phone) for immediate communication.
  • Meet clients with clear signage, transport them to housing, and ensure a welcoming experience.
  • Immediate Housing and Safety Support:
  • Provide a culturally appropriate hot meal upon arrival.

Conduct a thorough housing walkthrough, including:
  • Appliance usage instructions.
  • Emergency exits and safety procedures.
  • Program and emergency contact information.
  • Complete the Safety Checklist to confirm housing readiness.

Weekend and Immediate Support:
  • Provide support for weekend arrivals, including:
  • Ensuring clients have access to three culturally appropriate meals daily.
  • Supplying necessary items such as toiletries, bedding, and other essentials.
  • Document all activities, including interpreter use, housing walkthroughs, and meal provisions in the Case Note Log.
  1. Initial Service Provision
  • Conduct intake interviews within 7 days to assess needs and inform clients of their rights and responsibilities.
  • Submit internal referrals (e.g., medical, employment, ESL) to OMRS within 48 hours.
  • Assist clients with enrolling in public benefits programs, ensuring transportation or interpreter support as needed.

  1. Ongoing Core Services
  • Develop and monitor individualized service plans to ensure compliance with core service timelines.
  • Conduct home visits at 24/72 hours, 30, 60, and 90 days to monitor safety, progress, and client needs.
  • Assist with school enrollment, Social Security cards, and other initial resettlement milestones.
  • Conduct Cultural Orientation sessions and assessments to facilitate adaptation.
  1. 5. Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate case files with all R&P required documentation.
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports to the Program Manager.
  • Use tracking tools to ensure compliance with service delivery standards and timelines.
  1. Staff Leadership and Collaboration
  • Mentor and train new staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Represent MEIRS at PRM, ECDC, OMRS, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Support coverage for staff absences to ensure uninterrupted client support, including weekend services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma; College degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in refugee resettlement, case management, or a leadership/supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of public benefits systems and local service providers.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management databases.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience mentoring or training staff.
  • Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Somali, Arabic, Dari, etc.).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Salary: $55,000 annually.
