As a Senior Research and Innovation Consultant, you must see the consumers beyond a number on a page, but rather as a human with a deeper story to tell. We are seeking a general qualitative researcher with proven expertise in delivering traditional qualitative research methodologies to join our Human Sciences team. A bonus would be to have some healthcare, finance and/or UX experience.


The Directions Group offers a Work from Anywhere environment so working remotely and/or from our Cincinnati Headquarters is an option. This position is not eligible for US visa or employment sponsorship.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead clients, partners, and respondents through qualitative research, ideation, and formalized debriefs.
  • Create discussion guides and other research materials that support in answering client objectives and needs.
  • Lead In-depth empathetic interviews and group discussions with consumers.
  • Analyze research findings to develop actionable insights and next-step recommendations.
  • Write and deliver a comprehensive summary report of the qualitative project or phase.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for client's business and suggestions for future learning and innovation needs.
  • Collaborate with project team to design strategic approaches that meets client objectives.
  • Innovate and execute new products rooted in Human Science that fuel Integrated Intelligence to solve client challenges and business needs.


Skills Needed:

  • Strong, clear, and confidence-inspiring communicator in speech, writing and presentation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience primarily focused on market research and/or relevant business experience with at least 3-5 years of moderating experience.
  • Ability to empathically connect with respondents, probe with questions and observations to uncover rich data, and the ability to analyze and synthesize data into insights.
  • Ability to assimilate to new businesses and industries, demonstrating confident use of data, terminology, and key ideas.
  • Strong relational skills for client management and interaction.
  • Detail-orientated and organized, self-led and motivated to meet and exceed expectations for tasks, deliverables and timelines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, as project work requires
