Chenega Analytic Business Solutions (CABS) provides federal agencies and commercial customers with trusted insights into Records and Information Management, Administrative Solutions, Information Technology, Engineering, and Training. Formed in 2017 to serve federal and commercial customers, CABS is 8(a) certified and has grown quickly into a leader in the federal IT and Training environment.
The
Sr. Records Consultant serves as a subject matter expert in support of the Bureau of Prisons Information Management.
Responsibilities - Lead special projects as needed.
- Responsible for tracking record transfers and requests utilizing the Iron Mountain Connect.
- Assist with drafting of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), record schedules, and Records and Information Management Certifications (RIMCerts).
- Review, process, edit, and obtain approval of record transfers from appropriate personnel.
- Oversee the record disposal operations, ensuring disposal eligibility and obtaining approvals for destruction.
- Serve as subject matter expert for the Electronic Records Archives System.
- Recommend updates to the records schedule.
- Troubleshoot electronic and procedural problems.
- Research document origin.
- Complete annual Chenega and contract-required trainings as required.
- Record labor hours daily in the company's timekeeping system as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree desired.
- 5+ years of Records & Information Management experience.
- National Archives and Records Administration Certification desired.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Background check with the ability to obtain a BOP Security Clearance Eligible (Public Trust).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Must complete NARA Knowledge Area 1-6 classes to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
- Knowledge Area Courses: The Records Management Overview, The Creating and Maintaining Agency Business Information, The Records Scheduling, The Records Schedule Implementation, The Asset and Risk Management, The Records Management Program Development.
- Demonstrated ability to deal simultaneously and calmly with several crises, to determine the relative importance of each, to recognize important users of the service, to accord to them priority attention, to discern the true nature of problems from imprecise descriptions, and to refer problems to the proper individuals for resolution.
- Must have working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, SharePoint/OneDrive, Kanban, Power Platform
- and Access).
- Must be able to multitask in a high-stress, performance-based environment.
- Must have the ability to communicate with others effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences as requested.
- Ability to establish priorities and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 10% as required.
