• Establish and foster a quality culture dedicated to excellence and Leidos values.
• Plan and oversee quality audit activities for Defense Systems Sector programs and facilities to ensure higher program performance at the enterprise level.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, and corporate requirements through sector-wide audits.
• Facilitate the implementation of practices compliant with AS9100, ISO 9001, CMMI-DEV, CMMI-SVC.
• Evaluate and prepare facilities for ISO9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems (QMS) audit assessments by ensuring proper audit schedules are in place and corrective actions are properly answered.
• Ensure that the Defense Systems Sector maintains an effective quality management system by reporting on audit metrics that affect the enterprise.
• Ability to plan and estimate according to contractual requirements.
• Lead a team of auditors to conduct independent audits ensuring compliance and fostering continual improvement.
• Ensure resolution of internal and external audit findings promptly through root cause analysis and corrective measures.
• Address escalated quality issues in a timely manner.
• Conduct trend analysis at sector and program levels, implementing measures for enterprise maturation by using Microsoft Office products as well as Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Perform deep dives to analyze program issues, facilitating containment and lessons learned.
• Monitor contract deliverables for conformance with requirements and quality standards.
• Lead structured improvement activities for continual enhancement at sector and program levels.
• Lead integration of acquired organizations for quality management system compliance and process alignment.
• Develop audit plans, checklists, and metrics associated with audit events using strong computer skills.
• Communicate effectively with technical and management staff at all organizational levels, including senior management.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure a comprehensive understanding of quality process requirements.
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 standards and expertise in navigating the structure of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Present Quality Management Reviews in an ISO9001/AS9100 environment.
• Read and interpret procedures, work instructions, drawings, assembly schematics, and specifications.
• Develop QMS processes and work instructions to incorporate current requirements and methodologies.
• Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
• Apply understanding of CMMI requirements across the collaborative network.
• Knowledge of contract requirements and DFARs etc.
• Ability to walk programs through requirements of each process to properly align the program with the QMS/processes.
• Monitor monthly audit planning completion timeliness within the Quality Engineering and Control (QE&C) team.
• Manage multiple audit schedules unique to each program and organization for up to 3 years per program.
Basic Qualifications
• Candidate must possess a BA/BS or equivalent experience with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience
• Candidate must have at least 4+ years' experience leading and managing large teams or projects.
• Knowledge and auditing experience of Government and industry regulations such as FARs, DFARS, MIL-STDs, IPC, SAE, ASTM, and others preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of CMMI practices.
• Candidate must have experience with facilitating AS9100 Audits and working with third party registrars.
• Must have experience facilitating and leading Quality Management Reviews (QMR).
• Must have worked in a manufacturing environment for 5+ years.
• Experience in performing or facilitating statistical analysis and process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
• Ability to communicate issues and concerns to senior leadership to resolve problem areas.
• Proficient in reviewing KPIs and metrics to determine needed corrective action or opportunities for improvement.
• Capable of training and mentoring quality assurance representatives.
• Able to adapt to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups.
• Experience with ISO 19011 for Auditing Management Systems.
• Certified AS9100 lead auditor with 5+ years of leading audit teams.
• Experience managing and maintaining multiple QMS structures.
• Experience with ISO 19011 for Auditing Management Systems
• Certified AS9100 auditor or AS9100 lead auditor
• Experience reviewing and understanding contractual requirements.
• Experience managing multiple QMS structures.
• Proficient in updating and maintaining QMS processes to incorporate current requirements and methodologies .
• Knowledge of risk management principles and techniques
• Candidate must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Must be a resident of the North Alabama area.
• Some travel may be required, typically no more than 25%
Preferred Qualifications.
• Experience in working with lab requirements and the ISO17025 standard.
• Experience in working with DOE requirements and the NQA-1 standard.
• Knowledge or calibration processes.
• Involvement in building or migrating systems and processes.
