Job Summary: As a Senior Project Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging high-level IT project execution with comprehensive infrastructure support. Your responsibilities will include leading technical implementation projects from inception to completion, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. You will leverage your expertise in systems, networking, and field-based troubleshooting to provide hands-on support and solutions. Additionally, you will engage with both technical teams and non-technical users across various environments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Implementation & Infrastructure Management
  • Lead the deployment and configuration of servers (Windows Server 2016+), firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Execute infrastructure upgrades, Office 365 migrations, and virtualization projects using VMware and/or Hyper-V.
  • Plan and implement cloud backup, disaster recovery, endpoint protection, and network redesigns.
  • Oversee hybrid environments, including Active Directory, Azure AD, and conditional access policies.
  • Partner with internal teams and third-party vendors for systems planning, escalations, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate technical deliverables with stakeholders, documenting processes and risks proactively.
Technical Support & Field Service
  • Serve as Tier 2 lead for complex support incidents involving Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Teams, SharePoint, and core business tools.
  • Perform on-site diagnostics and hardware deployments in support of manufacturing, construction, or field operations.
  • Maintain and improve connectivity across LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi networks and remote endpoints.
  • Conduct user training and knowledge-sharing sessions during and after deployments.
Documentation & Operational Handoffs
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including configurations, credentials, and diagrams using modern documentation platforms.
  • Ensure smooth post-project transitions to help desk, NOC, or cybersecurity teams.
  • Validate the quality and completeness of all documentation before project closure.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Collaborate with project managers and leadership to define technical scopes and milestones.
  • Provide mentorship to junior technicians or engineers and contribute to internal process improvements.
  • Occasionally participate in client-facing discussions to clarify technical designs and address concerns during implementation.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of IT infrastructure and support experience, with at least 2 years in project-based, user-supporting, or client-facing roles.
  • Experience supporting mixed field/office environments in industries like construction or manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems independently and deliver client-ready solutions.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365, Azure Administrator, Network+, Security, preferred.
  • Exposure to modern MSP tools (RMMs, SIEMs, documentation platforms like Hudu and ConnectWise).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity platforms, compliance solutions, and Office 365/Exchange.
  • Proficient in:
    • Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments
    • VMware or Hyper-V virtualization platforms
    • Firewalls, switches, VLANs, wireless systems (Meraki, Ubiquiti, or similar)
    • Backup/disaster recovery systems and endpoint protection tools
  • Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and work under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Comfort working in a lean, dynamic, fast paced, growing environment

Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)
  • This role will be in office setting, however frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards.
    • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
    • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
    • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
