We are currently accepting resumes for a Sr. Project Manager position in Torrance, CA.
This position is Hybrid. Resource is requested to be onsite 3 days a week and probably more as the project ramps up.
Salary Range: $156-$166k
The selected candidate will perform the following duties:
Client is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Program Manager to lead a critical transformation project. This role involves aligning the project team with department and business unit objectives, providing governance and oversight of end-to-end delivery, and offering leadership guidance and support. The Program Manager will work closely with multiple areas of the organization, including Sales, Parts, Service, and Finance, as well as managing vendor suppliers. Reporting to the Dealer Applications Unit Lead, this role is responsible for guiding the delivery of both strategic and tactical projects.
This is a leadership position responsible for managing a team focused on delivering a high-quality Dealer Communication System (DCS) that meets current and future dealer and business needs. The candidate must exhibit drive, thought leadership, and strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities to lead the delivery of complex technology solutions. This includes understanding business and technical aspects of the system and navigating a highly complex multi-organization ecosystem. In addition to managing the development of the DCS, this individual will also be involved in developing and delivering proposals, dashboards, and presentations to all levels of business and management.

• Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage multiple large and complex enterprise programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines. Develop and implement a well-defined program management process, championing ongoing process improvement initiatives.

• Strategic Thinking: Manage tactically while driving toward solutions, questioning assumptions, and thinking outside the box. Accept a reasonable level of risk in decision-making and make difficult decisions for the benefit of the project.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve program management processes utilizing LEAN tools. Ensure projects are delivered on time and under budget, while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Agile/SAFe Facilitation: Facilitate Agile/SAFe practices across multiple teams, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and methodologies. Provide hands-on guidance and training
to teams on Agile/SAFe practices, including planning, estimation, daily meetings, and retrospectives.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior leadership, to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Maintain open and effective communication channels to ensure stakeholder alignment and support.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and resolve conflicts to ensure project success. Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges and ensure project continuity.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular updates and reports to key stakeholders. Use project management tools to track milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the successful integration and implementation of the new software solution.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Experience:
• 10+ years of program management experience, with a focus on Agile/SAFe methodologies and large-scale transformation projects.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience, including managing professionals and vendor partners.
• Experience working with business groups and enterprise organizations such as Legal, Procurement, and Enterprise Architecture.
• Proven track record in procuring and managing outsourced and offsite partners.
Skills:
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Technical understanding of mobile, web, and services-based solutions.
• Experience with dealer automotive systems, DCS/DMS projects, or other technology projects.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Project.
• Experience in management-level presentations and delivering high-volume transaction applications.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets (at least $5M).
• Certifications in Agile/SAFe (e.g., SAFe Program Consultant, Certified ScrumMaster) are highly desirable.
• Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
