We are looking for a Senior Project Manager (SPM) to provide senior level leadership in planning, budgeting, and overall management of major capital projects and initiatives from conceptualization through design, bidding, construction, commissioning, and close out.
This role will develop collaborative approaches and work closely with Space Planning, Operations, IT/AV, Security and User teams to promote and enable clear and effective communication and team centric leadership, integrating internal teams with consultant design teams throughout the design and construction process.
The SPM will be responsible to lead design teams and construction managers in both the pre-construction due diligence, design and scoping process focusing on quality management, project controls, and user engagement as well as leading their teams through the bidding and construction administration process with a focus on safety, schedule compliance, field coordination, financial reporting, change order management, commissioning and completion.
Projects may include local, regional, national and international locations, including Asia and Europe. The position is located in Tarrytown, but occasional travel (up to 25%) to project sites may be required.
A typical day might include:
- Develops well-conceived and timely project plans that outline and map the overall project process and breaks critical focus areas that provide detailed, well informed roadmaps and risk aversion planning
- Builds tracking and reporting platforms that integrates into the ED&C project financial and engineering controls system
- Supports and incorporates ED&C Quality Management standards and processes
- Performs all project management duties for major new construction, renovation, infrastructure, research laboratories and facilities related projects using proficiency in domain knowledge and extensive business experience
- Establishes and maintains highly complex project budgets, cash flow analyses, and cost estimates, as well as reviews purchase orders, change orders, and invoices with significant impact on the success of company operations
- Develops, monitors, and maintains project schedules; ensures that project objectives with regard to time are met. Maintains client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships; manages conflict resolution
- Mentors and guides staff members, teams, and supports development of team members
This role might be for you if you have:
- Minimum of $25 million in construction completed
- Major research laboratory Project and infrastructure project experience preferred
- Experience, knowledge, and a track record in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards
- Knowledge and ability to supervise people, including recruitment, training, performance management, and people development
- High proficiency with general Microsoft applications, including MS Project and Share Point. Experience with project management applications
- Architectural or Engineering background with planning, design, construction administration, compliance, and infrastructure system understanding preferred
- Anticipates business and industry issues; recommends product, process or service improvements
To be considered for this role you need a bachelors degree in architecture, Engineering or Construction Management, masters degree preferred. You must have a minimum of 10 years experience in project management/construction management.
