This new position will lead several key R&D projects for our Retail Air Conditioning team. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of R&D and project/program management, preferably in consumer products/HVAC segments. This candidate will lead all aspects of several key projects - including design, schedule, product research, quality improvements, field tests, schedule, etc. This is a full-time position. Some domestic and international travel is required.
Essential Job Responsibilities - Be a project leader for various key R&D projects - including the Packaged Window Heat Pump project for New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA)
- Includes leading all aspects of the project - design, schedule, product research coordination, quality improvements, field tests, root causing field failures, etc.
- Be able to prioritize and effectively lead numerous key projects at once
- Help mentor other team members regarding project management & technical expertise
- Interface with consumer research & data science teams regarding insights surrounding key projects
- Work with industrial design team regarding prototypes/renderings for research events & projects
- Manage project action items & day-to-day communication with various internal/external parties - including local engineering team, international teams, customers, etc.
- Be a hands-on engineer who can work in the lab to make & test prototypes - including familiarity with basic machine shop tools & prototyping methods
- Maintain excellent communication with global colleagues - including taking occasional weekend/evening calls or meetings, helping track project milestones, deliverables, action items, etc.
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
- 15+ years' project/program management experience, preferably in consumer products/HVAC
- Goal-oriented & self-managed

Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
