Job Overview: Search Solution Group is seeking a
Sr. Production Planner on behalf of our client, a global healthcare company specializing in lifesaving medicines and technologies for infusion, transfusion, and clinical nutrition. The Sr. Production Planner plays a vital role in ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate planning and scheduling of production activities. This position supports the Planning and Scheduling Manager and is responsible for overseeing production schedules, managing inventory, executing SAP transactions, and coordinating with multiple departments to optimize material and resource planning across the plant.
Key Responsibilities: - Review SAP planned process orders and production schedules to issue process orders and pick slips
- Create and manage process orders in SAP, including inventory management and schedule adjustments
- Analyze capacity and material availability to identify and communicate scheduling issues
- Support Operations and Quality departments with SAP reporting, MR/DR log info, and data requests
- Interface with Supply Chain, Marketing, Production, Quality, QC, and Packaging Development
- Run and analyze MRP reports to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and S&OP
- Initiate DCRs for Master Recipe and SOP changes
- Act as backup for the Planning and Scheduling Manager and other planners
- Provide analytical and operational support to the Materials Department (Purchasing, Planning, Warehousing)
- Facilitate routine operations and scheduling meetings
- Support new and transferred product launches
- Monitor expiring batch reports to reduce material obsolescence
- Serve as alternate for MRB meetings, tracking and analyzing MR/DR data
- Execute SAP Production Planning (PP) transactions and improve material master data integrity
- Analyze and report on KPIs including schedule adherence, inventory, and product release
- Support department improvement projects related to inventory management and product transfers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements include: Education: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent work experience may be considered
Experience: - 5+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, MRP, or production planning
- Prior experience with scheduling in a manufacturing environment (batch records preferred)
Skills: - Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access)
- Advanced experience with ERP/MRP systems-SAP preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Customer service and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail, follow-through, and urgency
Certifications: - APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred
Knowledge: - In-depth understanding of materials planning, production operations (filling/packaging a plus)
- Knowledge of SAP Production Planning modules and data integrity practices
- Familiarity with Document Change Requests, MRB processes, and KPI reporting
