About the team and the role: The Team You would be joining the Buyer Experience AI team. The team is integral to creating a personalized buyer experience on eBay. We develop cutting edge AI/ML technologies to empower shoppers and buyers to explore what's personal to them, and also uniquely eBay. We power personalized recommendations and Gen AI experience on Homepage, View Item Page, and beyond. Our superpowers? The Role We are looking for an experienced Senior AI/ML Product Manager to elevate our Personalization and Gen AI capabilities to drive engagement, conversion, and inspire customers around the world. As the product leader on this team, you will have a huge impact on the future of machine learning and recommender systems at eBay. You will develop and drive a comprehensive strategy for recommendation algorithms and applications that impacts every user touchpoint across the platform, from delivering personalized shopping experiences on Homepage, to inspiring customers to discover what they may love through feed and video recommendations. No matter what, you'll be pushing the frontiers of what's possible, and have a direct impact on eBay's growth and bottom line. What you will accomplish: Be a thought leader that helps millions of customers around the globe find the right items from billions of inventories, and shape the future of how customers shop on eBay Craft and communicate comprehensive product vision, strategies, roadmaps, and aligning with eBay's core values and strategic goals Influence senior leaders across eBay by proactively communicating your vision, roadmap, and impact Lead and partner with global cross-functional teams, including applied researchers, engineers, data analysts, designers, and other product managers, to implement and iterate on your vision Identify new opportunities to elevate product performance, improve buyer experience, and drive customer satisfaction What you will bring: 7+ years of product management or related industry experience Proven record of successfully launching products leveraging machine learning solutions that impacts consumer experiences on large-scale ecommerce, social media, or other marketplace platforms Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to switch between both technical and non-technical audiences Strong analytical skills with experience defining metrics for your product areas, running A/B tests at scale and dissecting test performance to inform product decisions and roadmap Understanding of machine learning concepts and AI technologies, as well as experience in product discovery and feature development for personalized consumer experiences A creative, entrepreneurial "doer" who will innovate fearlessly to take eBay to the next level Comfort operating in global environments across cultures, locations, and time zones Experience working on recommendation systems, personalization, or other algorithmically driven consumer experiences at scale Technical competence in deep learning and large language models / Gen AI Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related fields. Relevant postgraduate education is a plus The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below. $149,200 - $234,850 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
