Ability to work with general direction to scope, plan and manage cross-department or multi-department projects to drive completion of targets/deliverables using standard project management methodologies through lifecycle phases. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large and highly complex technology assignments with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

This role reports to the Asst. Director Category Manager responsible for IT Hardware, Telecom, Datacenter, and Print contracts / vendor relationships. This role is within the Finance function, and we primarily work with our IT business partners and external vendors.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Accountable for the execution of all processes and procedures encompassing the entire vendor lifecycle and framework, such as contract development, negotiation, execution and post-signature management

• Partner with and provide consultation to business partners, and functional area leadership identifying vendor management opportunities and initiatives supporting the balance of risk and maximization of the supplier value proposition

• Strategic Sourcing - support the overarching technology spend category strategies and sourcing engagement strategies; oversee key strategic vendor sourcing initiatives; execute RFx activities and negotiate technology Hardware (Server, Network, Storage, PC Hardware, AV, print) and Telecom (wire & wireline) vendor space

• Qualified candidate will be assigned some of categories above based on their experience. Contract Lifecycle Management- direct the overall evaluation, selection, transition and monitoring of contractual agreements

• Vendor Risk Management - manage the process to ensure that proper level of due diligence is performed in preventing and mitigating/managing risk by engaging appropriate stakeholders; partner with client areas to develop tactics and strategies for vendor risk mitigation

• Relationship Management - direct the process of measuring and monitoring vendor performance, ensuring effective vendor relationships; partner with client areas to develop performance improvement plans, resolve vendor issues, develop contingency plans, and/or initiate disengagement, when appropriate

• Develop negotiation strategies using cost/benefit analysis, should-cost modeling, market research, etc., lead negotiation efforts on new deals with cross-functional teams to achieve optimum results (i.e. costs, quality, terms).

• Manages, minimizes and mitigates supply/contractual/regulatory risk using key functions where appropriate (Legal, Compliance, Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, Audit etc.)

• Build strong working relationships with various cross functional groups across the enterprise, monitor partner satisfaction, and establish partner relationships to create synergies across accounts.

Bring Your Best. What this role needs:

• Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Business, Accounting/Finance, MIS, Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• 3-5 years of relevant category management, strategic sourcing, and vendor management experience

• Operational and/or procurement experience in technology (Software, SaaS, Cloud computing, etc.) is preferred

• Proven ability to arrive at unique solutions to complex issues

• Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and effectively advise on strategic issues to senior and department management for potential actions and results

• Proven ability to cultivate and manage relationships with key internal personnel at various levels of the organization, external clients and vendors; ability to build strong external networks with individuals in the industry and/or professional organizations

• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

• Superior verbal and written communication skills

• Located within the greater Milwaukee metro area (preferred, but not required). Local candidates who excel in this temporary position may be considered for permanent placement.
