This position, located in Colorado Springs, CO., plays a crucial role in our mission to support the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier globally and regionally. Networks integrate and synchronize autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities. Essential Functions: Operate, maintain, and manage Windows/Linux-based domain supporting a software development environment
Responsible for overall day-to-day operations of the Windows/Linux environment and is responsible for backup and recovery (to include disaster recovery) of system data
Ensure all data is being backed up per COOP and BCP
Ensure the backup system is functioning correctly, and periodically test the backup system by restoring files
Respond appropriately to any security or virus incident discovered in the system
Install, configure, monitor, manage, and maintain all Windows/Linux-based servers
Create and maintain Windows/Linux system administration processes and procedures
Install, configure, manage, and maintain all Windows/Linux server-based applications
Ensure all Windows/Linux-based systems have the appropriate patches installed, which include but are not limited to:
Security
Applications
OS
Ensure all Windows/Linux-based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition files
Create, manage, and maintain group policy objects, security groups, and user accounts
Monitor, manage, and maintain storage systems and devices
Recommend system enhancements, including but not limited to:
Servers
Applications
Storage
Processes
Procedures
Recommend when additional system resources are required or when existing resources should be retired
Ensure all appropriate asset management functions are completed as required
All other tasks as assigned by the IT site lead or IT manager
Assist the help desk in responding to end users' requests/issues Basic Qualifications: Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience, or 12 years of related experience instead of a degree may be considered

Flexible Work Arrangements Additional Northrop Grumman Information: Salary Range: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
