As an HPC Data Center Manager at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) Business Area's (BA) Research Computing (RC) organization seeks high-performance computing (HPC) professionals to support its growing teams of scientists and engineers. The MDA RC organization is responsible for the design, development, deployment, security, operation, monitoring, management, and support of all computational hardware and software used for basic research, modeling and simulation, circuit design, and circuit testing. RC oversees multiple highly complex large compute clusters that are required in the daily work of users of diverse backgrounds, roles, and responsibilities. RC is searching for HPC operations, administration, and applications experts excited to learn new technologies and contribute to a highly dynamic organization. Responsibilities Monitor and maintain data center operational integrity
Track and manage hardware assets
Interface with HPC Systems Engineers to support system requirements
Interface with vendors to manage hardware orders and deliveries
Interface with data center facilities teams to monitor, maintain, and enhance facilities to support system requirements
Contribute to design of new high-performance compute clusters Basic Qualifications: Sr. Principal HPC Data Center Manager Bachelor's degree with 8 years' relevant experience; 6 years' experience with a Master's degree; 4 years with PhD. Knowledge and experience with concepts of high-performance computing system hardware, including servers, network switches, cables, and storage components
Knowledge and experience with concepts of data center facilities, including power and cooling systems
Experience interfacing with hardware and software vendors
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance Preferred Qualifications: IAT Level II certification
Knowledge and experience monitoring and maintaining high-performance compute cluster hardware
Experience with supply chain and procurement processes
Experience with enterprise asset tracking
Experience with MPI implementations
Experience with high-speed, low-latency network fabrics
Experience with parallel file systems
Experience with GPUs Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $206,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
