Principal Computer Systems ArchitectJob Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Computer Systems Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering and architecture, along with a solid understanding of hardware and software compatibility and system security. This role requires a proactive individual who can work collaboratively to define and document hardware computer system architecture and resolve program support deficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively define and document the hardware computer system architecture.
- Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security.
- Coordinate the design of compute subsystems and integration of the total system.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
- Develop and recommend corrective actions.
- Interface and collaborate with system administrators, database managers, and software developers.
Essential Skills
- 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's in Science, 6 years with a Master's in Science, or 4 years with a PhD.
- Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application.
- Experience with requirements decomposition and derivation down to hardware subsystem level and hardware component level specifications.
- Experience with configuring and provisioning RedHat Linux.
- Familiarity with HPE High Performance Computing platforms.
- Knowledge of computer virtualization.
- Experience with VMware products (e.g., vCenter, vSphere, NSX, Tanzu).
- Experience with network design, configuration, and management.
- Familiarity with a broad set of commercial hardware system components (e.g., servers, switches, routers, network-attached storage).
- Experience with Atlassian tool sets (JIRA, Confluence).
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering principles.
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.
- Ability to travel internationally for up to 3 consecutive months during the deployment phase of the program.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- RedHat Certified (System Admin or Engineer).
- CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- CompTIA Network+ Certification.
- VMware Data Center Certification.
- VMware Network Virtualization Certification.
- Experience working within CAMEO.
- Experience helping develop Engineering Drawings and Electronic Bill of Materials.
Work Environment
The work environment includes collaborating with system administrators, database managers, and software developers. The role may require up to 10% domestic travel and international travel for up to 3 consecutive months during the deployment phase. Technologies and equipment used include RedHat Linux, VMware products, and various commercial hardware components. The dress code is business casual.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
