Position Summary:
The Senior Oil & Gas Properties Accountant is responsible for accounting related to oil and gas properties and Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO), ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. This role also manages CapEx accruals, supports audits, and partners with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate financial data and drive process improvements across the asset lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of oil and gas properties, including acquisition, development, and disposition
- Prepare monthly capital expenditure (CapEx) accruals
- Support internal and external audits with proper documentation
- Prepare account reconciliations and variance analysis
- Prepare and support monthly DD&A and ARO calculations
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes
- Collaborate with Land, Operations, Engineering, and Reservoir teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of property accounting data
- Perform special projects as assigned

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- 5+ years of oil and gas experience, with an emphasis on property accounting
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Experience with system upgrades/implementations is a plus
- Experience with Excalibur, Bolo, PowerBi, or Quorum is a plus
