Network and Systems Security Consultant to join our client's team in the Redmond area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, designing, and implementing robust security solutions to protect our clients' IT infrastructure from both a network and systems standpoint. Their security assessment is already completed, we simply need someone to implement the recommendations with best practices in mind This role requires deep expertise in network security, system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and compliance with industry security standards. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct security assessments of networks, systems, and applications to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Perform penetration testing, threat modeling, and risk analysis of their current on prem Windows environment.
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and breaches.
- Implement compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to IT teams and end users.
- Evaluate and recommend security tools and technologies for improved protection
The most qualified candidates should have most of the following: - 7+ years of experience in network and systems security. You have several "wins" in your career in making environments more secure.
- Strong knowledge of Windows systems, firewalls, VLANs, endpoint security, and encryption technologies.
- Experience with cloud security (Azure) and zero-trust architectures.
- Hands-on expertise in security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO 27001.
- Proficiency in vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys) and SIEM solutions.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GIAC preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills with a consultant level polish and bias for action.
