We're hiring a
Senior Network Engineer to support the U.S. Army's Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) and the Regional Network Enterprise Center - National Capital Region (RNEC-NCR). This is a great opportunity for someone with 6-10 years of experience and strong hands-on network skills looking to make a direct impact on national defense infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, test, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure-including the Installation Campus Area Network (ICAN).
- Respond to AESMP ticket assignments within 2 hours for critical and VIP support (via phone/email).
- Install and maintain LAN/WAN/SONET infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Information Assurance (IA) requirements.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical ICAN components (Edge routers to Area Distribution Switches).
- Configure and support Common Access Card (CAC) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for secure access.
- Execute equipment installations, upgrades, and changes-routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, servers, and more.
- Maintain connectivity between Fort Belvoir and off-site Government facilities, ensuring required bandwidth.
- Support system security with patching, antivirus updates, and PKI certificate management.
Requirements - Active Secret Clearance (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant network engineering experience
- CompTIA Security+ and CCNP Certification (Required)
- Meets DoD 8570 IAT-II Certification requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to mentor junior and mid-level engineers as needed
Preferred Qualifications - In-depth knowledge of U.S. Army or Government communications networks
- Experience working in high-security, mission-critical environments
