Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Programming and Development, the Senior MuleSoft Developer is responsible for defining, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and integrations that support the organization's business objectives. This role plays a key part in advancing an API-led connectivity strategy and implementing microservices-based architectures to enable scalable, high-performance solutions. The Senior Developer designs and delivers end-to-end system integrations that ensure high availability, security, and maintainability across cloud and on-premise environments. In addition to hands-on development, the role involves researching, documenting, and enhancing software specifications throughout the development lifecycle while also providing technical leadership, support, and mentorship to other engineers on the team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement complex integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including APIs, connectors, and data transformation flows.
- Develop RAML specifications and build reusable APIs aligned with the API-led connectivity approach.
- Integrate MuleSoft with various enterprise systems, including JH Symitar, Salesforce, Alkami Digital Banking, SQL, and custom in-house platforms.
- Lead the development of scalable and secure microservices using Mule 4 and DataWeave.
- Optimize performance of MuleSoft flows and troubleshoot issues across the full development lifecycle.
- Define CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft applications using Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
- Accountability of the integration roadmap, helping define governance standards, and enabling broader team members through documentation or training.
- Provide leadership in defining integration strategies and best practices in alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Architects, Product Owners) to deliver solutions on time and within scope.
- Ensure MuleSoft solutions meet security, logging, auditing, and governance requirements.
- Conduct code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to MuleSoft CoE (Center of Excellence) initiatives.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION:
Experienced and certified MuleSoft Developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, building, deploying, and managing enterprise-level integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. Proven expertise in API-led connectivity, microservices architecture, and end-to-end system integration for high-availability, scalable applications.
- 8+ years of total IT experience, with 6+ years of hands-on MuleSoft development experience.
- Deep expertise in Mule 4, Data Weave, API Gateway, Runtime Manager, Anypoint Studio, Anypoint Exchange, and Cloud Hub 2.0 experience is mandatory
- Optimize integration flows for performance and efficiency, addressing bottlenecks and ensuring scalability in the cloud.
- Must possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Demonstrate proven experience in production support, analyzing business problems, and providing solutions.
- Proficient in RAML, RESTful API design, and asynchronous messaging (MQ, JMS, Kafka, etc.).
- Solid understanding of integration patterns including batch processing, streaming, and orchestration.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, SAML, TLS, and other security protocols.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps tools for build and deployment: Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab, Maven, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiar with cloud deployment strategies on AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
- MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 or Level 2 preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Must have expertise and strong working knowledge of Agile methodology.
EDUCATION and/or PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Financial Services or Credit Union environments is a plus.
- Symitar and PowerOn knowledge is advantage
- Experience in containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes (K8s).
- Exposure to monitoring tools like Splunk, ELK, or AppDynamics for MuleSoft applications.
