Senior Merchandise Planner


As our team continues to grow, we're looking for a Senior Merchandise Planner to help drive strategic inventory management, optimize product availability, and support business growth through informed planning and analysis.


What You'll Do


  • Develop, maintain, and adjust monthly sales and inventory plans for assigned product categories in alignment with financial targets.
  • Manage open-to-buy (OTB) to ensure optimal inventory levels that balance customer demand with budget goals and minimize risk.
  • Lead quarterly planning and buy review processes, presenting recommendations and insights to senior leadership.
  • Oversee purchase order (PO) creation and management at the style/color/size level and coordinate with sourcing or production teams to ensure timely execution.
  • Provide accurate inventory and sales forecasts to support production timelines and capacity planning.
  • Compile weekly and quarterly reporting to track performance, identify trends, and communicate key takeaways and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine assortments, plan product buys, and support go-to-market strategies.
  • Develop revenue and unit forecasts for new product launches using both top-down and bottom-up planning methods.
  • Support promotional efforts by identifying featured products and creating SKU-level plans to drive sell-through.
  • Partner with merchandising, e-commerce, and operations teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and effective inventory flow.
  • Monitor slow-moving or excess inventory and recommend markdown or exit strategies as needed.
  • Work with logistics and fulfillment teams to optimize warehouse space and inventory handling.

What You Bring


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in merchandise planning, buying, or inventory management, preferably within retail or consumer goods
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a solid grasp of retail math and forecasting
  • Proficiency in Excel or similar data tools; familiarity with ERP or planning software is a plus
  • A results-driven mindset with the ability to identify and act on business opportunities and risks
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
