The Sr. Marketing Segmentation & Data Analyst is considered an authority on Northwestern Mutual data. In this position, you will explore and become a subject matter expert on how data flows between systems, be able to consult on the data and attributes available to build target audiences and drive effective campaigns, have a solid understanding of marketing strategies, and enable the timely delivery and execution of campaigns.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake and refinement, define and support ad hoc data analyses, and improve and maintain data systems and operational processes for internal customers in support of marketing initiatives.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the structure and location of various data sources to be applied in marketing campaigns and analyses.

  • Partner cross-functionally to identify key questions, articulate hypotheses, structure tests, refine requirements, define scope, and develop strategic analyses, to inform and enhance future campaigns.

  • Engage with marketing partners and other cross functional data, insights, and advanced analytics to coordinate appropriate target audience definition, selection, and control groups, and deliver accurate campaign lists for use in marketing campaigns.

  • Works with all levels within the department and other key partners outside the department to gather, analyze, and interpret data to measure strategy and assess results.

  • Review relevant data sets and analyses to develop detailed and informed insights and implications to inform strategy and decisions.

  • Establish data quality standards by ensuring strong data governance, understanding engineering processes, defining audience requirements, and advocating for high quality outputs.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with progressive responsibilities.

  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases, database structures, and marketing customer relationship management data. Experience with DataBricks or similar. High proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence development using SQL, Python, or R-Script, and Excel.

  • Excellent analytical skills, and strong detail orientation with an ability to handle and deal with large amounts of data, unstructured business problems, and synthesize data for others.

  • Strong process and project management skills to complete multiple projects concurrently and adjust workload as needed.

  • Ability to solve complex problems with implications beyond one departmental division and to anticipate business issues and implement strategic priorities.

  • Ability to convey analytical and technical concepts to non-analytical and non-technical stakeholders, combined with strong written and oral communication skills with a demonstrable ability to build rapport with all levels across the organization.

  • Domain expertise with marketing concepts and a high degree of expertise with marketing programs, such as prospecting, promotion, client loyalty.

  • Ability to work in a highly cross-functional, matrixed structure with multiple stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with CDPs & experience integrating new CDP solutions preferred.

  • Experience with campaign execution, orchestration, and automation suites like Salesforce preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.


Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$76,650.00

Pay Range - End:

$142,350.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
