Kemper is seeking to hire an Information Systems Senior Manager. The Senior Manager focuses on leading the Kemper Auto Financial Services team of developers and business systems analysts that is responsible for Angular UI, micro services, and batch components. These applications handle billing, commissions, ACH and credit card payment processing and integrate with various financial vendors. The role includes overall responsibility for managing the run, grow, and transform of applications across the Kemper Auto line of business.
Responsibilities - Manage a team of internal and external employees and contractors to support cross functional 8+ application systems which have significant impact on the company's objectives and results.
- Manage new integrations and changes to existing integrations as part of several concurrent transformation programs.
- Manage external contractors with portfolio of multiple, simultaneous Incidents and Problems of varying size and complexity.
- Manage decommission activity of legacy applications from on premise data center.
- Provide quality, timely and cost-effective Information Systems services in support of the company mission and strategies.
- Leads coordination of Information Systems resources with customers, vendors and other Information Systems areas.
- Represent the company externally with Industry bodies and other partners.
Qualifications - 7+ years of technical personnel management experience
- 7+ years of experience in designing, building, and implementing large scale software solutions (banking, financial or insurance industry preferred)
- Education equivalent to a college degree in computer science or related field, or the equivalent in related work experience
- Experience leading and building Information Systems delivery organizations
- Demonstrated experience and relevant expertise in the configuration and deployment of Information Systems business solutions
- Deep technical experience with Java deployed applications on variety of platforms but primarily focused on (Linux, Tomcat, EKS, EC2, AWS)
- Demonstrated experience with vendor management and contract structuring
- Demonstrated leadership qualities communicating and reporting at the business and IT executive level
- Significant experience in project management
- Ability to manage simultaneous initiatives to successful delivery
- Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with stakeholders and senior business leadership of departments and customers participating in this project
- Ability to build consensus among business and technology stakeholders
- Ability to organize and work effectively with teams that consist of internal staff and/or external parties (agents, vendors, etc.)
- Change management experience across IT and Business is preferred
- This is an office position with remote work days available.
The range for this position is $95900 to $159700. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
