Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Business Operations - Payments to provide operational leadership and drive excellence in electronic payments across our organization. This role plays a key part in supporting clients in the local government and utilities sectors, ensuring efficient payment processing, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in electronic payment solutions, merchant services, and SaaS operations, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and optimizing business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide operational leadership in the electronic payments industry, focusing on card acceptance, authorization, risk mitigation, migration, and clearing

Analyze merchant business needs for clients in the local government and utilities sectors

Develop and maintain compliance documentation to support ongoing regulatory changes

Collaborate with onboarding and support teams to address escalated service issues, improve processes, deliver training, and manage liability

Utilize Salesforce to track, document, and update details related to client issues and resolutions

Communicate feature requests, client feedback, and workarounds with internal teams

Partner with Sales and Product teams to support go-to-market strategies

Conduct detailed analysis of revenue by customer, account, and payment method; provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability and user adoption

Assist in managing third-party partnerships and vendor relationships

Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders to provide operational insights and updates

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience providing operational leadership in electronic payments and merchant services

Strong background in payment processing, including onboarding and ongoing support of merchant accounts and systems

Experience working with or supporting local government clients and SaaS products

Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives

Excellent organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving

Proficiency in Salesforce and related tools for tracking and managing client interactions

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
