Title: Sr. Maintenance Technician (Union Position)
Location: Buena Park, California
Duration: Permanent
Hourly Rate: $24.00 - $30.00 (based on experience and skills)
Job Summary
Under general supervision performs preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and systems thought the facility. Maintains and repairs facility equipment and building infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain building and site infrastructure by performing and adherence to a routine preventive maintenance inspection program
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions to unplanned maintenance issues.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance and repair on production equipment and infrastructure systems to minimize downtime and maintains documentation on such.
- Able to make repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, wastewater and industrial water systems.
- Helps relocate equipment/assets and installs and/or relocated necessary cables/wiring.
- Effectively manage maintenance projects for time, quality and cost.
- Manage contractors and subcontractors as required.
- Monitors facilities for safety hazards and makes recommendations as necessary
Basic Qualifications
- A High School diploma or general education equivalent
- At least five (5) years' experience operating, maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing manufacturing equipment
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance in the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and painting
- Previous experience using power hand tools
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to read and interpret construction and equipment drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel and internet search engine
- Flexible to work after hours and/or weekend to respond to emergency calls
- Must be able to drive domestically and internationally as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work with necessary chemicals
- Ability to successfully pass the Respirator Fit Test
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Trade school Certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and/or carpentry in facilities repairs
- Equipment certifications such as Forklift, Scissor lift
- Certified in HAZWOPER
- Certified in Department Of Transportation (DOT)
