Our Specialty Technology Department is currently seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to join our Business Analysis team on a hybrid work arrangement out of our Worcester, MA office. This is a full time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Information Technology (IT) Business Analyst (BA) serves as a primary contact for all of the business requirements and processes. The IT BA is responsible for the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and communication of business requirements as well as end user readiness of business solutions. They assess the needs of a business partner through direct interaction and look for technology opportunities to develop and support the growth of the business.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Lead the development of structured requirements gathered through various techniques by others
- Advises partners on options, including an evaluation of risks and cost vs benefit
- Solidifies relationships with business partners by demonstrating advanced knowledge of the business strategies and objectives as they relate to their processes, products, people and systems and by providing timely and accurate information between stakeholder groups
- Understands and shares an advanced level of awareness of the external industry trends and competitors
- Ability to participate in the suctioning activities and may be accountable for a significant portion of a project plan in collaboration with project team members, from requirements through design, testing, implementation, evaluation and maintenance; with accountability for specific deliverables
- Has experience participating across multiple project methodologies-agile, waterfall, iterative
- Proactively researches and applies innovative best practices for areas of expertise & recommends improvements to current procedures in partnership with the BA Center of Excellence (Coe) and the Project Management Office (PMO)
- Works independently and mentors other team members to do the following: Be prepared to lead the project team in providing business context and ensuring the success of the QA deliverables and business acceptance testing Partner with implementation management and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and adoption of a technical solution
- Utilizes networks with business partners by demonstrating knowledge of the business strategies and objectives as they relate to their processes, products, people and systems and by providing timely and accurate information between stakeholder groups
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Computer Science or similar degree preferred
- Insurance Industry knowledge
- Strong Analytic skills
- Flexible and adaptive to the evolving needs of business partners and systems
- Able to manage and balance multiple priorities, partners, systems, and issues.
- Able to communicate clearly, both written and verbally, with internal and external business partners
- Self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to new challenges, either on their own or as part of a team
- Strong experience in Office 365 tools and apps
- Experience with Guidewire preferred
