This role offers the opportunity to drive HR strategy, enhance talent development, and shape organizational culture in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an onsite role located in Central Islip, NY. Open to relocation.
Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partner - Manufacturing Support
- Act as a strategic HR partner for manufacturing employees, supervisors, and leadership.
- Implement HR policies and manage employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, staffing, and talent development.
- Provide coaching and guidance on HR policies, labor laws, and compliance matters.
- Conduct investigations, address employee concerns, and resolve workplace issues.
- Manage employee transfers, exit interviews, and disciplinary actions, including performance improvement plans and terminations.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and employment regulations.
Employee Training & Organizational Development - Train and coach employees and managers to drive performance and effectiveness.
- Assess business challenges and implement strategic plans to enhance operations.
- Advise leadership on organizational structure, team design, and efficiency improvements.
- Stay current with best practices in training and talent development.
- Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS) and assist with talent management programs.
Staffing & Talent Acquisition - Partner with hiring teams to interview and select top talent.
- Recommend competitive salary offers and placement strategies.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and leadership to develop hiring plans and meet workforce needs.
Compensation, HRIS & Benefits Administration - Provide guidance on salary recommendations, promotions, and compensation strategies.
- Analyze HR data and trends to inform policy improvements.
- Maintain HRIS systems, process personnel transactions, and ensure data integrity.
- Advise employees and managers on benefits, leave policies, and accommodations.
- Work with LOA Administrators to manage employee leaves and workplace accommodations.
HR Leadership & Special Initiatives - Act as a backup to the Head of HR, supporting HR, Security, and Site Services teams.
- Lead HR projects, process improvements, and strategic business initiatives.
- Collaborate with external partners, agencies, and community organizations on HR-related initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of HR experience, in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
- Proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors HCM, Concur Expense Reporting and/or other related business systems.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
- Strong ability to build relationships, manage expectations, and provide strategic HR guidance.
- Comfortable working in a diverse, global organization with international cultures.
- Ability to adapt to change, influence at all levels, and balance strategic and tactical HR functions.
