The Senior Healthcare Programmer/Analyst is responsible for designing and executing SQL queries to extract and analyze healthcare data. Key responsibilities include developing and generating reports for Health Plans, such as ODAGs, Part C, and Inpatient Logs.

This role utilizes SSRS to format and automate recurring Health Plan reports and leverages Tableau to create clear, user-friendly dashboards for effective data presentation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare compliance reporting terminology and specifications, ensuring all reports are designed to meet regulatory requirements. Exceptional attention to detail and a consistent track record of producing accurate, high-quality work are critical. Advanced Excel skills are also essential to analyze data and align results with Health Plan reporting templates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
  • Generates a high volume of monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports for health plans
  • Develops report formats based on Health Plan templates, including ODAGs, Part C, Denial Logs, and Inpatient Referral Universes.
  • Maintains and supports Tableau dashboards that track authorization turnaround times and denial rates.
  • Cleans and validates source data to ensure accuracy and integrity of final reporting outputs.
  • Automates report generation by designing and scheduling SSRS reports for efficient, timely delivery.
  • Translates analytical findings into clear, actionable summaries and visually compelling dashboards.
  • Independently conducts complex analyses using advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple projects efficiently while keeping management informed of workload and potential issues.
  • Responds promptly to end-user requests for report customization and enhancements.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • Consistently delivers accurate, high-quality work within tight deadlines.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members to achieve shared goals and deliver high-quality results.
  • Manages multiple projects by prioritizing tasks and proactively communicating workload updates or challenges to management.
  • Performs additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $115,000 - $125,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Education and / or Experience:
  • Familiarity of with health care analytics
  • 3+ years of SQL programming experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a healthcare organization
  • 3+ years of experience producing and analyzing compliance reports for submissions to health plans
  • Expert level skills in SQL, Tableau, SSRS, Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • A strong personal work ethic
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage competing deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college is preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail
