Senior Hardware Test Engineer for a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This role is ideal for an engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware testing and development, particularly in regulated industries. The position involves leading hardware validation efforts on innovative medical device products in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform electronic hardware testing on advanced medical imaging systems.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and formal test reports.
- Conduct functional, safety, and reliability testing on low-voltage analog and digital systems.
- Design, simulate, and test circuits; support PCB development and schematic creation using tools like Altium or AutoCAD.
- Validate and troubleshoot hardware interfaces such as SPI, LVDS, and DDR.
- Work with components such as FPGA, LSI, and ASIC for hardware design and validation.
- Perform EMC (EMI/EMS) analysis and recommend countermeasures as needed.
- Utilize test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and power analyzers.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex hardware/software interaction issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, and regulatory groups.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including test protocols, reports, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Support design verification and validation efforts in line with FDA, ISO 13485, and IEC 60601 standards.
Required Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic hardware testing, preferably within a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, or automotive.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design and testing.
- Experience with circuit simulation tools and PCB design software.
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI testing principles and mitigation techniques.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and standards such as ISO 13485 and IEC 60601.
- Proficiency in lab equipment and test automation tools (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python).
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Raleigh, NC, and begin a new opportunity within two weeks.
Preferred Qualifications: - Background in medical device product development.
- Hands-on experience in safety-critical environments.
- Experience interfacing with customer support and field service engineering teams.
