Sr Full Stack Engineer

Sr. Full Stack Engineer - S.F. ML Hedge Fund

(ideally about 50% backend, depending on your preference can be anywhere from 50-75% backend)

San Francisco, CA (ideally 5x/week. open to 1 day/week from home)

The company is a machine learning / data science hedge fund.

The company has about 16 employees and 6 engineers.

In this position, you would be primarily working with Python, Elixir, and Vue.js. Ideally it would be about 50% backend; depending on your preference it could be anywhere from 50-75% backend.

The company will pay up to $275k in salary plus profit sharing in the fund.

Job Responsibilities:

- Working with a tech stack that includes Python, Vue, Elixir, Airflow, Postgres, HTML, CSS, Terraform, Docker, and AWS.

- Building, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure and services.

- Running hundreds of ML models.

- Supporting and improving the website & APIs.

- Developing and maintaining open-source tools.

- Helping with marketing initiatives.

- You'll be one of two engineers on this team; you will be expected to quickly take ownership of large projects and become a driving force for innovation in critical areas.

- You should be comfortable managing your time to ensure a balance of high quality and high output.

Qualifications:

- At least 6 years (the more the better) of professional experience in software engineering.

- Strong in Python.

- Docker, AWS, Postgres.

- Proficient with a front end framework such as Vue, React, Angular, Svelt, etc.

- Familiar with data pipelines, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, basic distributed computing concepts, and database management.

Nice to have:

- Background in statistics or finance.

- Elixir.

- Terraform.

- HTML, CSS, Vue.
